Premier High School of Tyler
Premier High School of Tyler is a TEA- and SACS-accredited charter school that provides an individualized and self-paced curriculum for all students. We are an open-enrollment free public charter campus serving grades 6th – 12th. Because of the self-paced structure of our curriculum students have the flexibility to be able to complete coursework that they need in order to earn credits, recover credits, and graduate early. Mastery of coursework is the key to individual student’s success.
On our campus we expect and set high academic standards. Our goal is to prepare all students to master the TAKS test. We offer TAKS classes in the areas of ELA, Math, and Science. Tutorial classes are also provided on a daily basis for all students needing extra assistance. Mandatory tutorials are held for students not mastering a specific percentage on Benchmark Test, Stanford Test, and or TAKS Test, which includes Saturday tutorials.
We have a non-traditional school day: the classes begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. for most students. Pre-AP and AP students are released at 2:00 p.m. The extended day begins at 1:15 p.m.for tutorials.
The future of the Tyler campus is to transition all students into post-secondary education, including but not limited to universities, colleges, trade schools, and associate degree programs. Part of the transition process will include dual college enrollment while in high school. Students may participate in dual enrollment classes earning both high school and college credit concurrently.
